If you’re reading this, you’re already a good parent.
But maybe you’re seeing your child struggle, or you’re finding it hard to understand your child’s behaviors or reactions. If your child seems to have responses out of proportion with the circumstances, you might have a big-feeling kid–a kid whose big heart sometimes cannot be contained within their little body, and it just overflows. It’s messy and overwhelming and heart wrenching at times, but these littles have such incredible potential for deep empathy, compassion, and reflection. They just need a bit of support from you to help them become resilient in the face of challenges, without getting stuck in the depths of their feelings.
I’m Emily–a mom and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for all things kids and parenting. With over a decade of experience in social work, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside families through both the toughest and the most joyful parts of their journeys. The trust families place in me to bear witness to their growth is something I don’t take lightly—it’s inspiring, humbling, and it’s what motivates me to share the therapeutic insights and strategies found within these posts. This blog comes from that place of humility and with an understanding that you, as the parent, know your child best. If you’re here with me, thank you for the opportunity to be part of your village.
